CHELA NEW SILICONE REMOVAL RANGE INCLUDES FLOOR CLEANER
Fri 11 Jul 2003
Chela, best known for its railcare products, has expanded its line of products with Digesil, a new range, which makes the removal of silicone simpler and more efficient. This new generation of products will also remove other polymers and incorporates a unique chemistry that is both safer and more effective than conventional solvents.
Silicone’s high resistance to water, heat and most chemicals makes cleanup and removal difficult and costly. Chela has responded to this challenge, by working closely with its existing customers in the silicone industry to create this highly effective product range.
The potential applications of Digesil are numerous. As well as being used to remove cured and uncured silicone elastomers and resins, it will clean floors and machinery in silicone manufacturing and packing factories and clean reactor vessels.
Digesil is also suitable for use in the electronics industry, in hosemaking extrusion and moulding companies, automobile manufacture and maintenance. It will remove silicone greases from bearing, cleaning plant and floors in adhesive tape and paper label manufacture. In addition, there are also applications in the medical and dental profession, cloth manufacture and dry cleaning industries. Basically Digesil can be used anywhere that silicones are used.
- Digesil is effective because it does not harm rubber, other polymers or organic coatings.
- It has a low level of evaporation and is efficient in use
- It has a high flash point, so the risk of fire is reduced
- Digesil has a high capacity
- The product has a high boiling point, therefore low risk of build-up of vapours
- It will digest all silicones and can be used and reused until its capacity is exhausted
- Easily disposed of via incineration - environmentally friendly
There are 15 Chela products in the Digesil group, including Di-Aqua for the aqueous removal of silicone residues, silicone oils and fluids from floors, equipment and furniture.
Sales manager Steve Milton comments "We identified a growing need in many industries for effective and environmentally friendly cleaning products. Research and development is a key area of our work and we rose to the challenge to develop a powerful digestant and solvent that could tackle the most difficult problems in these areas. It is a very exciting development for Chela and we have a growing list of clients who are keen to try the range"
"Cleaning is much more than simply removing unwanted matter from surfaces, said Anthony Fisher, Chairman of Chela. " We believe that a clean environment is a measure of self-respect for all involved. Our approach is system driven to all our customers cleaning requirements. The cleaning of cured silicone, elastomers, resins, oils and grease is a notoriously complex area, but we have not only the expertise but also the forward thinking that has enabled us to respond to industry needs’
The company is renowned for its scientific approach to cleaning problems. and research and development remain a key area of Chela's work.
Chela also supplies cleaning products and services for the bus and coach industry, rail industry, road haulage, car washing, food industry, interior cleaning and disinfection, graffiti protection and removal and building renovation and maintenance.
